Mario Kart 64 review

Mario Kart 64 is a fast-paced, action packed game, which entertained me for hours! This was the second Mario Kart game in the series, (I've never had the chance to play the first one), and was released for the Nintendo 64. The game consists of competeing in go-cart races, in which Mario and his pals are the drivers.

This game had some nice controls, (in my opionion), and offered a wide array of characters to choose from when playing. While the graphics are sub-par compared to today's three-dimensional games, they were not bad at the time the game was released. This game also offers hidden courses and an unlockable reverse mode, in which all courses played are flipped backwards, (it makes for quite a challenge to play a level's opposite counterpart!) This game also makes for a great multiplayer title, (utilizing four controllers rather than two, as in the SNES). This game is fun, and I really cannot find any faults besides the graphics.

All in all, a good game that really doesn't stand out, I give it a 5.5 out of 10
