Well it is a little bit of a weird blog title but this picture says a thousand words! Allow me to accompany this thousand word saying picture with a few of my own, this is freaking cool. If you are a Nintendo fan or even just a gamer then you will have to appreciate the sheer awesomeness of this coffee table. It looks like an old Nes controller has been zapped with some sort of “grow ray” and this amazing NES controller table is the result!
Not sure where this came from or if we can buy them but it certainly is cool!
Ah that sad moment when you fell down a pit or got struck by a wayward fire ball, that moment when Mario dies and you have to hand the controller over to the next player is one of the hardest to deal with as a gamer. Mario is only human after all, he is susceptible to a vast array of ailments, most of which have been beautifully captured in this amazing drawing that illustrates the various ways in which Mario dies.
Whilst this topic may seem a little macabre this wonderful colorful illustration captures the many deaths of Mario in a somewhat humorous way!

Ah I love a good artistic interpretation of super Mario somehow. That’s one of the things I have always loved about Mario, he seems to inspire all sorts of creativity in all sorts of people and today is no exception!
I’m sure this picture will say different things to everyone but I personally interpret this piece as Mario being insane and thinking he can fly and Luigi stopping him! Or perhaps Luigi just feels left out and wants a cape himself? I think there is a message here for us all folks…
I haven’t made it any secret that Super Mario world is one of my favourite games of all time! This means that whenever I come across something SMW that I think is cool you all have to deal with it as well! I won’t rant too much more about this picture other than it features super Mario, complete with cape, riding a realistic looking Yoshi!

Thanks to Dianne for sending me this awesome picture! As an amateur guitarist and massive Mario fan I must say I was a little bit excited to stumble across such an awesome addition to life! Some Koopa Troopa fan must have hand carved this marvelous piece by hand and then refined it into this awesome piece of rock and roll bad-ass-ary!

Ah the 80’s! They brought us a lot of awesome movies, a lot of awesome music and a lot of questionable fashion ideas…This classic80’s commercial is advertising the brand new Game Genie! It connects to most of your favourite games! I loved having the game genie, the infinite flight cheat you could use for the princess in Super Mario Bros 2 was truly amazing and I remember still struggling to pass contra even with infinite lives!
For those of you that don’t know the game genie was an attachment that would slide onto a NES cartridge and would then allow you to enter a series of codes to unlock certain cheats. The codes themselves were housed in a small game genie book that listed games alphabetically.
This video is hilarious! I love how far marketing has come in just a few short years and whilst I love this ad quite a lot I am thankful that we don’t have to put up with this style of ad on a day to day basis anymore!
Queen to bishop 6, check mate! I think that may have been a quote from Bladerunner but let’s focus on the game of chess, more specifically Super Mario Chess! We all know that the game of chess is a good one, but over time the traditional white and black pieces have become stale and boring…how I loathe those boring lifeless pieces…Anyway, where was I…Ah yes, why not spice up your chess playing days with this awesome Super Mario Chess set? With Mario as King and Luigi (suspiciously) as the Queen of one team and Bowser and Koopa Jnr lead the opposing forces you know you are in for a barrel of fun!
For less than $40 you can bring our beloved plumber into your dining room! A word of warning however, this game brings with it another avenue for which Toad can annoy you, it may lead to a series of expletives directed at that mushroom wearing fungi that rivals that of a good Mario Kart session.
I won’t bore you with more ramblings, I think these pictures will make you want to buy yourself a set!

Some of these costumes are really well done and then there are some that…aren’t. I love the idea behind this Mario/Yoshi combination for a costume and the time and dedication that would be required to construct them is truly awe inspiring too! It takes a real dedicated fan to sit up for hours at a sewing machine to construct their own Mario and Yoshi Costume…
