It all started back in the day with that crazy monkey Donkey Kong! Back in the old arcades when Mario was still “Jump Man” this now famous Gorilla was busy owning it up throwing barrels and kidnapping Pauline!

Anyway, here at Mario Mayhem we like to cover most things Nintendo and especially when they are closely related to the Mushroom Kingdom like DK is! This has lead us to create this list of 6 interesting facts you probably didn’t know about the legendary Donkey Kong!

Somehow I have always enjoyed watching people play video games! At times, it’s actually more enjoyable for me then being the one controlling the “mennies” (that means “characters” for those of you not familiar with my Dad’s video game slang)! What does this little anecdote have to do with this post? Not much really, other than with this awesome collection of 32 animated Mario gif’s you can almost get the illusion of someone playing super Mario for you. I stumbled across this awesome picture on reddit the other day and just had to share it on Bowser’s Blog! This cool image depicts a kind of realistic version of the classic original Donkey Kong, complete with Mario and Hammer, a rather seductive Pauline and predominantly featuring a King Kong like Donkey Kong!

If you are like me you probably spent a fair bit of time on this classic game so you may be having mixed reactions to seeing this realistic portrayal…do not fear, I promise you the monkey has not come alive and he is not after you anymore! You do not have to dodge the barrels…please stop with the barrels…

…Maybe I played too much of the game…
