Looking Back at Smooth Moves

The Nintendo Wii was one of the most revolutionary things to come from gaming across the whole of its history, and the effect it had is still yet to be matched. Many gamers who grew up around the time of its release should have many memories of an assortment of games that were played on the console, and it is unlikely that anyone has managed to get the Mii channel or Wii sports theme out of their heads. The Wii has of course been discontinued now in place of the Wii U and Nintendo Switch, the latter being the most recent console from the Japanese company. However, one game stands above the rest when it comes to the Nintendo Wii.

If you were to mention WarioWare: Smooth Moves to much of the casual gaming population, it is unlikely that they will be aware of the game’s existence at all. However, for those that have played it, they will likely only have good things to say about it. One only must look at the review ratings online to get an idea of the quality of the game. Most will know that Nintendo only releases quality games and has established a reputation for doing so, and Smooth Moves is no exception.

Released in 2006, Smooth Moves was one of the first wave of Wii games to accompany the release of the console itself. Those who picked it up alongside a Wii would have made a great decision, as the gameplay is superb. It utilises the gimmick of using a Wii remote as players are presented with various mini-games that see them making different gestures and actions with the remote to progress in the mini-games. When it comes to sheer variety, Smooth Moves simply excels, and players can always expect something different during each stage of play. After progressing through a series of these mini-games, players will eventually reach a boss stage that will prove harder and longer than the games that come before it. This makes for a wonderful gameplay loop that will hardly ever cause players to become bored.

With Smooth Moves, one player need not have all the fun. Nintendo treated players here by making the game multiplayer too, and those who complete it and enjoy it can bring their friends round to experience some of the intense fun that can be had too. Games like these would have proved highly useful during the lockdowns that followed recent world events. This is because they would have acted as entertainment to help pass this period alongside other activities such as online gambling, click here for some examples, online shopping, and even streaming. The only annoying feature of the multiplayer mode is that on Wii remote must be shared between players instead of them having their own remote.

There is no doubt that Smooth Moves is one of the most enjoyable games on the Nintendo Wii, and maybe even in the entire Mario series too. Those who have not tried it should dust off their old Wii and power it on one last time to enjoy the enjoyment that ensues when playing Smooth Moves.
