I would say that both the brothers have faced too much difficulties throughout the game and both the brothers also have crossed too much of danger zones, so where does this comes from that whether Mario is better or Luigi ? Here I feel pretty biased if chosen between them.

Exactly. In addition to that both the brothers are inseparable. In fact I am also felt biased to choose between these two and then I chose Luigi. He is also one of the best in many forms.
