RE: Video Game Music
I guess minus the licensed soundtracks of the EA games (Burnout, SSX, NFS), I really enjoyed the Music from Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon(N64), I have the entire soundtrack on my computer. Other honorable mentions go out to Smash Brothers Melee, Zelda 64, Killer 7, Devil May Cry 3, Soul Calibur 2, and Legend Of Dragoon.I using VE2 for the instrument and EQ/Powerpan plugins then i send instruments group to a 1 bus with an EQ an compressor who go to another bus where i use the convolution reverb ( all effect are the VS ones ) all bus with convulsion re-verb then go to the master who have a multiband and limiter on it.

RE: Video Game Music
If you like Mario and Zelda themes the best, then this is the ultimate video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlPUhbbXzb0
The best videogame music ever comes from Zelda. There are so many songs I love from that series. Song of Storms, File Select, Serenade of Water, Bolero of Fire, the Main Theme, and many more.
There are also many Mario songs that I like such as the main theme, the underground theme, the underwater theme, the Secret Slide Theme, the Star Theme, and many more.

RE: Video Game Music
Firstly I would like to list Mario, the all time favorite music, secondly Dr. Mario, however I rarely play it. the third one doesn't fits in this list which is Contra. This is the list of my childhood games, whose music used to give me pleasure while playing.

I'm gonna go ahead and post this. Choosing favorites is a sin.
One of my favorites is the joint soundtrack for Infinity Blade and Infinity Blade II. It was very unexpected that an iPhone game would have such a great soundtrack. The first is the final battle with the main antagonist of the first game, while the second is the final battle music for the second game, which adds music from the half-secret final boss of the first game.
