Mario \u2013 the games span over 35 years and is one of, if not the most successful video game franchises of all time. Like the best sports betting sites<\/a>,\n the Mario series is full of great options and characters. Many of the \ncharacters are very well known \u2013 and because of their notoriety, we can \nmake some real world comparisons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

A fun one to do is to compare\n Mario, Luigi, and other characters from the video game as athletes. \nHere is who we are comparing to the most popular Mario characters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario \u2013 The G.O.A.Ts (Wayne Gretzky or Michael Jordan)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When people think of the classic GOAT (greatest of all-time athletes)<\/a>\n from the 1980s and 1990s, these are the two guys many will think of (at\n least the two guys I think of). Mario \u2013 whose run of games in the 1980s\n and 1990s is one of the greatest and most influential of all time makes\n the comparison apt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luigi \u2013 MLB Outfielder (Jose Bautista)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For\n some reason, after playing the very underappreciated Mario Baseball \ngame for the GameCube, Luigi always reminds me of Jose Bautista. Maybe \nit is their body types, or perhaps it was hitting dingers with Luigi and\n watching Jose Bautista mash them for the Toronto Blue Jays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peach \u2013 Soccer Star (Alex Morgan)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peach\n is definitely one of the stars of the Mario series but does not get as \nmuch love as Mario and Luigi. She needs to do a lot to get the same \ncredit as the boys \u2013 kind of like how the United States Women\u2019s National\n Team needs to do so much to get the same recognition as the men\u2019s team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yoshi \u2013 An NFL Running Back (Walter Payton) <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yoshi\n is definitely an NFL running back with a ranging skill set. He is a \ntank \u2013 much more capable of taking punishment than Mario or Luigi. He \nhas range \u2013 able to snag enemies and food with his tongue (or for a \nrunning back, catching balls all over the field). Add in some good hops \nand durability, and you could maybe say Yoshi is like Walter Payton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wario \u2013 MLB Catcher (Yadier Molina)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wario\n is similar to a Major League Baseball catcher with a big center of \ngravity and some power. In Mario Baseball, he is always a good guy to \npick to man home plate \u2013 with a big body to block the plate and some \npower in his swing to bat just after the clean-up guy. He may not be a \ntwin of Yadier Molina, but he could be a long-lost brother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toad \u2013 Speedy NFL Wide Receiver (Tyreek Hill) <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone\n knows Toad is a speedster. He is one of \u2013 if not the fastest guy in \nMario Kart. He uses his speed in other games to outrun enemies. He is \nalso smaller than many others in Mario\u2019s main crew \u2013 but just as useful \n(sometimes more useful) than his larger teammate. Personality-wise, he \nis not like Tyreek Hill. However, skillset-wise they have a lot in \ncommon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bowser \u2013 The Dallas Cowboys the Last 25 Years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going\n a little different for Bowser \u2013 instead of comparing him to an \nathletic, he gets compared to a team. Bowser is powerful, loaded with \nresources, loved by many, and reviled by more. He is much like the \nDallas Cowboys. But like the Dallas Cowboys the last quarter-century, he\n has been a disappointment. He consistently fails to defeat Mario \u2013 \ndespite the advantages he has over the Italian plumber. It is just like \nthe Cowboys and how disappointing they have been the last 25 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Koopa and Goomba \u2013 Bad WWE Wrestlers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These\n are the two most common enemies in Mario games, and being so common and\n weak \u2013 they are comically easy to defeat. They are like the WWE \nwrestlers, who come out to fight the Champion \u2013 only to lose in epic \nfashion. They are laudable in their efforts, but definitely no one\u2019s \nfavourites. Once and a while, they get a chance at something more, yet \nrarely are able to do anything with it. Koopas also sometimes team up \nwith Mario \u2013 so they have the edge in the head-to-head between the Mario\n minions. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
