Previously on Super Mario Land...

Mario had just freed Easton Kingdom of Hiyoihoi's treachery, and is on his way to Chai Kingdom. Many new creatures await Mario in the China-like kingdom, and will defeat Tatanga, and save Daisy!

Mario set foot on Chai Kingdom, and what a place it was! There were monuments everywhere! Then came a ninja-like creature.

"Now, who are you?" asked Mario.

"I am Pionpi," said the ninja. "You are Mario, right? If you made it this far, you won't be getting any farther!"

Pionpi hovered above Mario trying to attack him. Mario escaped and leaped on his head.

"Ha!" cried Pionpi. "You think you can defeat me that easily? Think again!"

Pionpi revived himself and chased after Mario. Mario found a snake in front of him and came to a halt.

"Nyololin attack Mario!" cried the snake. "Nyololin spit fire!"

Nyololin and Pionpi were then chasing Mario. Mario came to a stop when he found a couple bricks. In one was a Starman. Mario absorbed it and destroyed the creatures.

Mario ventured on to find an airplane named the "Sky Pop". Mario entered the Sky Pop and flew off.

As Mario flew, he found a flock of Chickens chasing after him. Mario fired missiles at them that were planted into the Sky Pop.

Mario flew on and found a giant cloud.

"I am Biokinton!" shouted the cloud. "You cannot defeat Tatanga!"

Biokinton fired Chickens at Mario. Mario fired missiles at Biokinton. He was distracted by the Chickens. He finally fired enough missiles to destroy Biokinton.

After Biokinton exploded, a ship arose from below. In the ship was the little purple thing.

"So," said the thing. "Mario. You've made it. I am Tatanga. If you want to rescue Princess Daisy, you will have to go through me!"

So this was Tatanga! Mario readied his missiles, knowing that Daisy was stuck in the other room. He had to save her and free Sarasaland from Tatanga's clutches.

It's just that Tatanga seemed stronger than he looked.
