It appears that Forum Games is the heart of all of this mess, I would imagine temporarily shutting down Forum Games, or the popular games inside of it logical. Though bots like novasoft will find other ones, I would imagine.

it may work, I don't know anything about bots so I can't judge whether it'd make them spam elsewhere on the site or if they'd come back afterwards or what... but hey, any move against spambots is a move in the right direction, right?

I'm not even sure if Moderators have that power.
It might be Administrator only.

I know a thing or two about spambots' habits, and they'd probably just move on to I found it on the Web (although that might not be as bad since to my knowledge no one looks in there).

If they do that, then you can just open FG back up and rename it "Spambot Paradise" or something like that. Then we could have a place to put them!
