Fun Super Mario World Glitches
Super Mario World is full of glitches. They range from block cloning to infinite bonus rooms, and even dying in the Top Secret Area! This is the thread where you discuss the various glitches, tell us which is your favorite, etc., etc.

Personally I don't really have a favorite. I just like too many of them. I do like block cloning, block factory, and invisible Yoshi out of them, though. Block cloning can create masses of blocks where there isn't supposed to be, block factory can pretty much create infinite coins/powerups/Yoshis, and the invisible Yoshi glitch can just be plain fun.

I have to say... I haven't seen a bug with me playing Smw. Maybe I didn't notice them...?

They're usually best when done intentionally, and, for most of them, on an emulator using savestates. There are, however, a few that I've done on my original cartridge.

Go through the ground 1:
As Super Mario, go into an area 1 tile high, ducking. Keep spinjumping until you fall through the floor.

Go through the ground 2:
On Vanilla Dome 3 (as Super Mario), walk (well, fall, really) down the first very steep slope, and spawn the flying question block. Duck, and as soon as the question block touches the slope, hold down and left. If you did it right, you are now dead.

Multiple Yoshis:
Go into Top Secret Area as Cape Mario with a Flower in reserve. Next to the Yoshi block, release your reserve item, and when it gets close to the block, jump next to it (to the left) and press Y (or X if you prefer). If you did it right, the Yoshi hatches extremely fast. Go onto the Yoshi, and you should mount it multiple times. If you throw it offscreen, another should appear (the game is programmed in expectancy that only one Yoshi would be in the level at a time). Eventually, if you do it right, you should get the result I linked to in the first post.

Wow, didn't know Nintendo made a game with that many bugs...but, I'm pretty sure every game has bug or too, right?
I might research on some.

EDIT: By the way...which version? SNES, or Advance 2?

That's it, someone get me a confirmation that this works for the GBA version, I want to do it.

Well, I know the first part works - I literally just did it on my GBA copy - but I doubt the second part will. Pretty much,
On the SNES port, when you spawn multiple Yoshis out of a block, you keep mounting Yoshis. If you find an invisible one, the mounting sound happens, and you have your walking sprites with Yoshi drums. If you spinjump while like that, you go extremely high. On the GBA version, you mount an invisible Yoshi, like what happens at 0:46 in this video (because we all know Nintendo never recognizes glitches in their own games), except you can dismount it. When you despawn a visible Yoshi, the last one you touched appears, like in the SNES port. However, since the death glitch requires the walking-sprites-while-on-Yoshi glitch, I doubt it's work.
I've never seen a glitch in SMW before, and I've even found all 96 exits. I think the guy in the Top Secret Area hacked his game or something, even though that was funny falling off in the top secret area

Actually I've seen a video of another person doing it, and I've just recently done it myself. I think it happens when you do that glitch with multiple Yoshis, as the game was only programmed to have one on-screen at a time. When you despawn a Yoshi, another one appears. If you mount an invisible Yoshi, you get walking sprites, which are two squares, opposed to the three-square mounted-Yoshi sprites. If you mount the next invisible one to spawn while getting rid of the visible one, the extra square will appear below the ground, causing you to fall to your doom.

I like rambling on about this stuff don't I Tongue
Also now I have a screenshot that I took, kind of as proof.

I didn't know about any of these glitches, but I do know lots of ways to get easy lives. One method is farming the extra life block down the pipe at the end of stage 1, world 1. Once you re-enter the pipe the block has reset so you can use it so many times before the time runs out you can easily get max lives.
